Papers

(long papers / short papers / applied research papers)

Long research papers

Christian Bastien, ETIC-Metz & Noëlle Carbonell, Loria-Nancy.

Long research papers must be 5-to-8-pages long and present recent and original –not published yet- progress in research with a significant impact. The scientific approach must be rigorous and rely on an elaborate state of the art. It must be clearly and attractively presented. States of the art on the progress made in a research sector can also be submitted, provided they show a balanced and well-documented synthesis of a field and are within the reach of non specialists.

Short research papers

Jean-Claude Tarby, Trigone-Lille 1 & Robin Vivian, ETIC-Metz.

The short research papers - from 2 to 4 pages- must concern ongoing or very recent but non completed research work, which is not the case for long research papers. For example: original concepts which are not fully established yet, new interfaces which have not been exhaustively evaluated yet, etc…
They must present a not-published-yet original and good quality work.

Instructions to the authors

Each short research paper that will be accepted is to end up in a 10-minute oral presentation during the Conference, followed by a 5-minute debate with the audience. The papers must be written in French and include a summary in English. The authors must know that due to the lack of time left for corrections after acceptation, they are strongly asked to correctly format the papers they propose and check their spelling in them. (see the conference format).

Applied research papers

Brigitte Simonnot, CREM-Metz  & Christophe Kolski, LAMIH-Valenciennes.

Applied research papers enable each author to present his/her concrete experiences in the field of human-computer interaction. Consultants and industrial teams are invited to present their studies concerning:  design projects, innovative experiences, lessons learnt from classic or new processes in the field of human-computer interaction.

Communications must be 5-to-8-pages long and follow a clear and straightforward presentation. Special attention must be paid to the following points: presentation of the author’s methodology, of the results he/she came to and of the lessons learnt from the whole study. Applied research papers are therefore long papers.
